Founder & Managing Director

Alex is the Owner and Founder of Gava Australia. He has more than 30 years experience in freight forwarding and logistics, as the Managing Director of our company. Amongst his extensive qualifications, Alex has a PhD in Economics obtained from the University of Rome, Italy. He is also an ex-Navy Officer, having graduated and served from the Naval Academy of Livorno, Italy. Alex had a vision when he came to Australia back in 1982, which is what Gava Australia has become today. His goal is to be true to our mission statement.
Matteo Crippa
General Manager

Matteo is the General Manager of the company, with more than 30 years of experience in the industry. For more than 20 years with Gava, he has built up our team and company culture. The best qualities of Matteo are his loyalty, his technical knowledge of every operational aspect of freight forwarding, and his people skills, helping him understand and manage every member of the team.

Diane has led our administration and accounting department for 20 years, having more than 30 years of experience in this field. Liz (Bettina) is our Customer Service leader, having worked at Gava for more than 10 years. She has extensive knowledge of the freight forwarding industry with more than 30 years experience. She’s qualified across various positions, including customs compiler and office administrator. Liz is very loyal and is always available to assist our clients and our team.
James Robinson
Operations

James is a member of our Operations Team. He has more than 10 years working experience, and amongst his qualifications, he has a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Sciences from Bond University. James is known to be a very reliable, honest and dedicated person.

Paul is our Licenced Customs Broker with more than 15 years of experience. He has obtained Australian Quarantine Accreditation, which allows him to offer consultancy regarding Customs Tariffs, Valuation, and Legislation’s advice. Paul is a very professional and honest person. He is an important and valued figure in our organisation.

Alessandra works in the Commercial Team in the Marketing and Sales sector. Alessandra has completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Business at Bond University. She is an ex-elite athlete, having represented Australia, winning two gold medals in Marathon Swimming. Alessandra looks forward to contributing to Gava Australia and its success over the coming years.
